toothachesToothaches can cause a lot of problems in one’s daily routine.  They are painful when we eat and sometimes depending on how bad they are, it can cause pain when we talk.  The causes of toothaches vary and can include tooth decay, which results from a faulty diet.   Other causes are the consumption of too much candy, soft drinks and pastries.  When bacteria is in the mouth it breaks sugar down into an acid form, which combines with the calcium in the enamel to cause tooth decay or erosion.

Home Remedies for Toothache

Garlic is one of the top home remedies for a toothache.  A clove of garlic with a little rock salt should be placed on the affected tooth.  It will relieve the pain. A clove should also be chewed daily in the morning. This helps make the teeth strong and healthy.

Lime is also used as a natural cure for toothaches.  Since lime is rich in vitamin C, it’s helpful in maintaining the health of your teeth and other bones.  It prevents decay and loosening of the teeth, toothache, and bleeding of the gums.

Pepper is another helpful home remedy.  Using a mixture of pepper powder (just a pinch) and a quarter teaspoon of common salt is an excellent deterrent.  If you have cavities you can use a pinch of pepper powder with clove oil.  This will help alleviate the cavity and also the toothache associated with it.

These are just a few home remedies to try if you are suffering with a toothache.  Try them before reaching for the over the counter medication at your local drug store.  They are effective and safe for you and your whole family.
