Do the Blues Have You Down?

depressionWe can all get the blues from time to time.  Some of us get us worse than others.  The signs are there, but sometimes not very noticeable.  If you work a full time job and have other responsibilities on top of that, you will more than likely attribute your feelings to being tired or overworked.  This is a normal reaction.  It could, however, be a form of depression, so if the tired and blue feelings don’t dissipate, you may want to try a few home remedies for depression to beat those blues.  We’ve listed a few for you here that have worked wonders for people.  Give them a try and see if they work for you too.

• Becoming more active can help a lot with depression.  It’s easy to hide inside if you are feeling blue, but by getting out and visiting friends or shopping will help alleviate the feeling of being alone or lonely.  You will feel much better.

• Exercising works wonders for depression.  It not only keeps the body physically fit, but also provides recreation and stress relief. Exercise also tones up the body, provides a feeling of accomplishment and reduces the sense of helplessness.

• Relaxation or meditation can be tremendously helpful as well.  This can be achieved by ensuring sufficient rest and sleep under quiet conditions. Meditation will help create a balance in the nervous system. This will enable the hormonal glands to return to a correct state of hormonal balance and thereby overcome the blues.
