Don’t Be A Flake

dandruffIf you suffer from dandruff it can be very embarrassing.  Especially if you wear dark clothing, you end up with flakes all over your shoulders.  The more you scratch your scalp, the more irritated it becomes.  You can even end up with red patches on your scalp that hurt to the touch.

Causes of Dandruff

Many different things can cause dandruff.  Eating the wrong foods for your particular body, constipation, and a low vitality due to infectious diseases can cause dandruff.  Other things can include emotional tension, harsh shampoos, over-exposure to the cold and simple exhaustion.

Dandruff Remedies

Here are some safe home remedies to try in order to get rid of those pesky flakes.


• When you wash your hair use of a teaspoon of fresh lime juice for the last rinse.


• Beets have been found useful in dandruff. Both tops and roots should be boiled in water and this water should be massaged into the scalp with the finger tips every night.


• Dandruff can be removed by massaging the hair for half an hour with curd which has been kept in the open for three days.


• Dilute cider vinegar with an equal quantity of water and dab this on to the hair with cotton wool between shampooing.


• Cider vinegar added to the final rinsing water after shampooing also helps to disperse dandruff.
