Herpes Is Not the End of the World
Herpes is sometimes referred to as the “hippy” disease. It widely spread during the 1970’s when everyone was preaching, “Love, not war.” It’s more common than people want to believe and is not the end of the world. Herpes is a common viral infection and it is contagious. It’s caused by the herpes simplex virus.
One type of the virus is the oral herpes such as cold sores or fever blisters that can lead to cold sores around the mouth and above the lips. The other type is the genital herpes such as genital sores or sores below the waist. The latter is a sexually transmitted disease that causes blisters and pain in the genital area and a lot of times is accompanied by a low fever.
Both types of the virus can be transmitted through direct contact, such as kissing, sharing eating utensils or having intimate contact.
Home Remedies for Herpes
It’s not curable, but it’s treatable. And we have a few home remedies for you to try. You might find that they are better than the over the counter medications.
• Bring one cup of olive oil, a tablespoon of beeswax and tablespoon of lavender oil to a boil on the stove. Remove from flame, cool and rub mixture on the herpes. It will ease the pain and help the sores to subside quickly.
• Sometimes you get the remnants of coffee at the bottom of the cup after you drink it (it has to be black coffee). Take your finger and gather some up and rub it on the lips or mouth (this is not for genital herpes).
• Rub alcohol in the herpes. It may sting at first, but keep repeating this and it will go away quicker.
