The number one cause of constipation is eating a bad diet and not getting enough exercise. When you eat the wrong foods that are high in cheese or meat in large quantities, you tend to block your bowels. This can be painful as well, when you can’t relieve yourself.

• Some vegetables are geared toward helping the digestive tract, such as spinach. It helps cleans and regenerate the intestinal tract. Raw spinach juice can also be very effective.
• Half a lime, squeezed is a glass of hot water, with half a teaspoon of salt is also an effective remedy for constipation.
• Linseed is extremely useful in difficult cases of constipation. A teaspoon of linseed swallowed with water before each meal provides both roughage and lubrication.
• Bael fruit is known as the best of all laxatives. It cleans the intestines. If you use it for a few months you will find that your bowel movements become regular.
• Pears are also beneficial in the treatment of constipation. A medium-sized pear taken after dinner or with breakfast will have the desired effect.
• Guava is another effective remedy for constipation. When eaten with seeds, it provides roughage to the diet. One or two guavas should be taken every day.
• Grapes have proved very beneficial in overcoming constipation. When fresh grapes are not available, raisins, soaked in water, can be used.
