Natural Sleep AidsWhen it’s bedtime, the last thing you want is to lie in bed counting sheep until the wee hours of the morning.  You want to fall asleep.  In today’s society we have so many pressures that it is sometimes hard to fall asleep.  We are thinking about the bills, the job, the kids, etc.  No wonder why we have such a heavy burden on our minds when it’s time for bed. 

And, sure you can find tons of medications at your local drug store.  You can even get a prescription from your doctor if your insomnia is bad enough.  The problem with these medications is that you don’t know what you are putting into your body.  Some of the prescription medications make you sleep longer than you normally would, and when you wake up you feel like you are in a fog.  Who needs that?  Not me.

There are other ways to get a good night’s sleep and kick insomnia.  What happened to chamomile tea before bedtime?  We can even give this to our children with a bit of honey and it’s perfectly safe.  Ginseng is also something that aids in the sleep process and it’s safe for our children.  Of course, there’s the old fashioned warm cup of milk that grandma used to prescribe for those long sleepless nights.

These are all things that you could try.  Avoid the over the counter stuff, as it’s filled with things we cannot even pronounce.  Let’s treat our bodies better and go with the natural cure.  It will be better for you in the long run.  Sweet dreams.
