‘Tis the Season for a Hangover
We’ve all been there at one point or another. The office Holiday parties and family gatherings are right around the corner and we will partake in drink and festivities above our norm. The next morning we will wake up with a dry mouth, bloodshot eyes and sometimes a nauseous feeling in our stomach. It is certainly not a fun experience and we will probably push alcohol away for several months afterwards. What do we do the morning after, so we can feel better? Well, we’ve come up with a few easy home remedies to cure a hangover. Here are just a few.
Hangover Remedies
• Drink a lot of water before you go to bed. This will help with the dry mouth you will have the next morning and the dehydrated feeling.
• Take vitamin C tablets. These help break down the alcohol content in your body.
• Never drink on an empty stomach. Food helps to absorb some of the alcohol and aids the body in digesting it faster.
• Starchy foods help to slow down the alcohol, so as not to be absorbed so quickly.
• If you limit your drinks, this can help as well. Maybe have one drink per hour.
• Alternate your alcoholic drinks with nonalcoholic beverages such as water.
• Avoid carbonated drinks as carbonation can speed up the alcohol absorption.
• Try to avoid sweet drinks and sugary foods while you drink. The sweet taste of the drink can make it difficult for you to judge how much alcohol you’re actually consuming.
